I have never thought I would go to Edinburgh. Before I went, I didn't even know where it is. After this trip, Edinburgh holds a special place in my heart, because it treasured so much precious memory.
Firstly, The methodology is very inspiring. The teachers made teaching and learning English seem so easy! there are always games to play, interesting topic to discuss on. I brought home many materials and ideas and I couldn't wait to test them on my students.
Secondly, Edinburgh has a very rich cultural background. Many buildings were built a few hundred years ago, it made me feel elegant just walking along the stone pavement. We had an architech with us (Hope~~) and she taught me how to appreciate the beautiful buildings and their design. Thank you Hope!! Scottish people are very proud of their country, and everywhere we go we could see and hear many Scottish stories and their heritage. One of the things that amazes me is that they have many museums. The museum of childhood, The royal museum, etc. they tell me a lot about the life there.
Thirdly, I love going to their churches. I went to a different church every week ( except the week we went to Highland). There are so many church there! The worship experience is very different from the ones i had in Hong kong. They are very traditional, they sing Psalms more than hymns, they give great emphasis on children and tries to involve them in the service, and i am very lucky to participate in a baby baptism which was very sweet and warm.
There are so many things I want to talk about and I don't know how to start and when to stop. This is a wonderful experience and I'm really thankful for everything!!
